Everyone knows I’m crazy about maple, so I was especially excited when Trader Joe’s debuted their new gluten-free Crunchy Maple Ladders Cereal this month! They have lots of maple flavor (from real maple syrup!) and make a convenient crunchy snack.
One issue I have with these tasty delights is their nutritional value (or lack thereof). This cereal is low in fat, but also devoid of vitamins. I’m also surprised at the low amount of fiber, considering chickpea flour is listed as the first ingredient, with psyllium husk powder also being listed a little further down the line.
I bought a 10.6-ounce box for $3.49. Would I buy it again? Sure – but not for use as a daily breakfast cereal, just as an occasional snack.
